READING COMMUNITY SINGERS

Welcome to Reading Community Singers!

Reading Community Singers (RCS), originally known as the "Choral Class," was established by the Reading Women's Club in October 1919.

The "Choral Class" appeared in its first concert on March 2, 1920, with a performance of the Cantata, "A Legend of Granada," under the direction of Katherine Crockett McDavitt. The chorus was assisted by a baritone soloist and an orchestra.

Our Mission:
To study the art of choral music and share the joy of singing with each other and members of the community. To provide an annual scholarships to a student who is pursuing a college degree with a major/minor in music.
