SCHOLARSHIP

Reading Community Singers supports the advancement of music education by providing a scholarship to a student pursuing a career in music.

  • The one-time award is for $1,000.
  • The application process is open to any graduating high school senior or full time undergraduate college student pursuing a major or minor in music.
  • Applicants must reside in Reading, MA or a town in the surrounding area.
  • The scholarship winner is expected to perform at RCS’s concert on May 9th, 2026. The concert begins at 7:30 and the scholarship performance is at the midpoint.
  • By accepting the RCS scholarship, the recipient consents to have his/her name and likeness used for promotion purposes.

Applications for the 2026 Reading Community Singers scholarship are due no later than January 31st, 2026. 

Finalists will be notified by 2/15/26.

1) Finalists will perform a 10-15 minute audition on Sunday, March 15, 2026.
2) Submit in advance a copy of the work(s) you will perform.
3) Provide your own accompanist or recorded accompaniment, including the music player and speakers needed for a recorded accompaniment. (A piano will be available.)
